Bullet Journals are wonderful things! You can use them to not only organize your day but also keep track of all aspects of your life.
I love the tracking aspect of bullet journaling and have many, many spreads devoted to tracking money, projects, health, entertainment and more!
Today I want to share with you how I use my weight loss tracker in my bullet journal.
Table of Contents
Bullet Journal
If you’re new to bullet journals you can check out my Complete Beginner’s Guide to Bullet Journals. I take you step by step through everything you need to set up and start your very own bullet journal.
Once you start, you will realize just how easy it really is. Using a BuJo has helped me to be more organized, stay on top of my to-do list and set goals.
The most important part to being successful with your bullet journal is making sure you have the right tools.
You need very little to start a BuJo – just a journal and pens. But getting good quality tools means your journal will not only be pretty but also practical.
I love the Leuchtturm1917 Hardcover Medium Dotted Journal – it’s the best journal you can find! Amazon has the very best price and the full selection of sizes and colors.
There are many different types of pen sets available depending on how you want to use them. To start with a simple set, like the Huhuhero Fineliner Pens, will work well and they are super affordable from Amazon.

Healthy Living & Weight Loss
I was very fortunate in my younger years, I could eat whatever I wanted and not put on weight! I really didn’t take very good care of my body but it just kept going!
Then I hit 30 years old and everything changed! It might also have had something to do with having 3 babies close together.
Over the last few years my weight has been slowly going up. I tried a number of different crash diets and exercise programs, but they had limited and short lasting effect.
I finally realized that I needed to concentrate on eating better and exercising regularly, rather than crash or fad diets. Leading a generally healthy life will help me drop the baby weight (can you still call it baby weight when your “baby” is 7 years old?!).
Using my bullet journal I am able to track my healthy habits and set myself goals.
I’m starting to see steady weight loss and I’m keeping the weight off. I don’t feel like I’m depriving myself either. Rather than thinking of it as a “diet”, I prefer to think of it as “healthy life choices”.
Weight Loss Tracker Spreads
I’ve been using 3 different bullet journal spreads to track my healthy lifestyle.
Weight Loss Tracker
Meal Planner Spread
Health Tracker
Weight Loss Tracker
I weigh myself once a week and record my weight in my journal.
As I lose weight I get to color in a new box! It’s so satisfying to see the boxes slowly getting filled as I get closer to my goal weight.
I love bright colors, so I decided to do this spread in rainbow colors. It makes me happy and excited every time I look at it!
Meal Planner Spread
Planning my meals each week has changed so many aspects of my life. Not only do I eat better, I save money and have a lot less stress.
I was able to save over $800 a MONTH by planning my meals instead eating out. It also saved me the extra calories, sugar and fat that are in fast food.
No long do I have to worry each evening what I’m going to cook for dinner. Long gone are the memories of finally deciding on something, only to discover I was missing a key ingredient!
Meal Plans really have made my life so much better!
I love using this weekly meal plan spread. I can record what we are going to have for breakfast, lunch and dinner each day (OK, breakfast is normally “cereal”!).
Also I can make a list of all the groceries I’m going to need for that week. The days of multiple trips to the grocery store each week are long gone! Now I go to the store just once a week and I know I will get the exact food that I need – saving me time and money!
Some weeks I include a little motivational quote to help me stay focused on healthy eating!
Health Tracker
This is my monthly health tracker. It lists all the healthy habits I want to stick to, such as not drinking soda and getting daily exercise.
Every day I record which habit I was able to keep that day. A tracker such as this keeps me accountable to myself!
As you can see I’m doing better with some of the healthy habits than I am with others! Giving up sugar is a tough one for me – I have a very sweet tooth!
Sticking to healthy habits is hard. Every day I have to exhibit willpower and some days I’m stronger than others. I’ve been using some willpower hacks to help myself along and every day it’s getting easier and easier to resist temptation!
Healthy Bullet Journal – Healthy Life!
As the months go by I’m not only losing weight but also feeling healthier and feeling better about myself.
If you’ve been struggling with your weight or just keeping healthy habits, then I strongly recommend you try a weight loss tracker for a month and see the difference it will make you your life!
I’d love to hear how you use your bullet journal to encourage good habits and stamp out the bad. Please share your stories in the comment section below.
I have a quick question. Do you use one notebook for everything or do you have a journal for each thing?
I have one bullet journal for all my “trackers” and a planner that I use for my day to day stuff. I’ve never been able to keep up with a daily bullet journal, so a planner works better for me. I keep my tracker journal on my desk and add to it as I think of things. My planner goes everywhere with me!
Hey,
The notebook/journal on the pics seems not to be a hardcopy (like the Leuchtturm), or is it just me?
Which kind do you use?
Well spotted! Yes, that’s from my old bullet journal which was a soft cover. It was from when I first started a bullet journal, so I don’t remember the brand – a cheap one from Amazon I think. Now I’m more experienced I think the hardcover Leuchtturn is definitely the best one to go for.
Alright! Thanks
This is awesome, thanks for sharing. I really like the idea of representing the weight loss by actual weights. Very clever idea, gives me the idea that the weight is coming off. Love it.
I’m trying to lose some weight before basketball season starts again.
So glad you like it! I thought the weights were a fun idea too! It makes it so rewarding to be able to color in each weight as I drop the pounds. I always look forward to doing it!
