Plants make the perfect accent to a room, so why not expand your indoor plant decor ideas with these DIY planters!
I have to admit, when the craze for succulents first started a few years ago, I couldn’t understand the appeal. I preferred rare and unique houseplants instead. They looked so plain and boring to me… oh man, was I wrong!
They are relatively easy to look after and don’t require a lot of special care (just don’t overwater them). All they need is some light and a bit of water every week or 2!
Most succulents are not low-light plants, if you want ideas for houseplants that thrive in dark rooms, then check out this post.
Once, I started to explore the different types of succulents (which include cacti) then I realized there’s actually a massive variety and some of them are utterly stunning!
The big-box store tend to all sell the same types of succulents, but there are some really unusual ones available… even from Amazon! Yep, you can order your succulents online!
When I found out how easy it is to propagate succulents for a leaf or cutting I became completely hooked! Really, it is soooo easy! And even better… you can buy packs of dozens and dozens of succulent cuttings online, so you can expand your collection!
It wasn’t long before I had a pretty sizable collection of succulents and desperately needs more creative succulent planter ideas.
Creative Succulent Planter Ideas
Once I started researching it, I found that there are dozens and dozens of ways to display your houseplants, and especially your succulents, rather than just sticking them in a boring pot!
I have 4 dogs, 4 cats, and 3 kids… so having pots on my windowsills is just not practical. So I was particularly drawn to wall-mounted and hanging succulent planter ideas. (A lot of plants are toxic to kids, cats, and dogs, so be aware of where you place them.)
